Text pages have some soiling and minor stains, with upper corners knocked, and slightly cockled. Firm, in the original binding of grey cloth, spine discoloured and with some small repairs, titled to the front in black and to the spine in gilt. Burmester was born in Essex in 1849, and the present title was the first of her six novels, all of which are now scarce. A fair copy. G. Item #19020120
