The Suitcase Theatre, with three plays for puppets.
London: Devereaux Publications Ltd., 1946. First edition. Hardcover. 96pp, with 15 plates in line, plus a colour frontis. Contents very clean and unmarked, with some very faint foxing to the endpapers. 19x13cms, in the original binding of black cloth titled in gilt: there are small knocks to the head of the spine and both upper corners. In the unclipped charming pictorial dust jacket, very bright, with no soiling or creasing. It is slightly rubbed, with light scuffs to the bottom edge, a small closed tear to the top edge of the back panel and a one-inch chip to its bottom edge. While the jacket sits well and appears to be separate, if one tries to remove it fully one discovers that it has been fixed (glued) to the book at the spine and the adjacent edges of the boards, and that there are small patches of paper residue on the boards where the jacket was pulled back a little: this should not be a problem in normal use. A very attractive copy. VG / very good. Item #19461010
